Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Hyde Park Schools, we are committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive education for all pupils. We believe that every child is a unique individual with their own needs and strengths. Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision ensures that all pupils, regardless of their ability or background, receive the support they need to thrive and achieve their full potential.
Our dedicated team of staff works in close partnership with pupils, parents, and external professionals to identify and support any special educational needs. Our approach is based on the principle of a graduated response, which involves four key stages:
- Assess: We use a range of formal and informal assessments to identify a pupil’s needs and the barriers to their learning.
- Plan: We create a personalized support plan with clear, achievable targets. This plan is developed collaboratively with the pupil and their family.
- Do: We implement the planned support, which may include targeted interventions, small group work, or one-to-one assistance from a teaching assistant.
- Review: We regularly review the pupil’s progress and the effectiveness of the support plan, making adjustments as needed.
Our goal is to ensure that all pupils feel confident, supported, and included in every aspect of school life. We are an inclusive school that celebrates diversity and provides a nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

To support your children's speech, language and communication needs, Speech and Language Link have fast tracked the launch of their new Parent Portal to help with this. The site is now live and will provide parents with FREE speech and language advice, resources and activities.
