Our Commitment to Curriculum Equality
At Hyde Park Schools, we are deeply committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils. Our curriculum is purposefully designed to promote a culture of inclusion and diversity, where every pupil feels proud of their identity and empowered to participate fully in school life. We believe that diversity is a strength to be celebrated.
We fulfil our statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010 by actively tackling discrimination, harassment, and stereotyping.
How We Embed Equality:
We promote equality by challenging stereotypes and actively championing respect for all. Our curriculum materials are chosen to reflect diverse backgrounds and family dynamics.
Our subjects are used as windows into different cultures and experiences, ensuring pupils see the value of their own heritage and that of others:
Pupils study a diverse range of artists, composers, and designers from different races, religions, and time periods. This helps children understand that achievement and creativity are universal, even among those with disabilities.
We ensure that resources reflect different ethnicities and family dynamics and teach about the religions and cultures of different countries in an objective, respectful way. Learning a language broadens cultural capital and advances equality of opportunity.
We encourage children to freely express their own views, beliefs, opinions, and feelings without judgement. We teach pupils that they must show respect and understanding towards the views of others, no matter their sex, age, race, or sexual orientation.
We aim to develop a culture where all children, staff, and parents are respected and able to thrive, regardless of their background.
