Pupil Premium at Hyde Park Schools

The Pupil Premium is a government initiative that provides additional funding to schools to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The funding is designed to help close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers.

At Hyde Park Schools, we are committed to using this funding to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. We carefully allocate our Pupil Premium funding to provide a range of targeted support and enriching experiences that are proven to have a positive impact on academic progress and personal development.

Our approach focuses on three key areas:

    • Academic Support: We provide small group and one-to-one tuition, interventions, and additional in-class support to help pupils catch up and make accelerated progress in core subjects like reading, writing, and maths.
    • Enrichment and Opportunities: The funding allows us to provide opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable to some pupils. This includes subsidizing school trips, clubs, and other activities that enrich their learning experience and broaden their horizons.
    • Pastoral Care: We use the funding to support pupils' social and emotional needs, which are often barriers to learning. This may include access to our Family Support Advisor, tailored mentoring, or resources that build confidence and resilience.

We are transparent about how we use our Pupil Premium funding. Full details on our spending, its impact, and our future plans are available in our annual Pupil Premium Strategy Statement, which can be found below:
