    Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is where your child's learning journey truly begins. We are committed to giving every child the best start in life by providing a nurturing, stimulating, and fun environment where they can grow and flourish, in line with the latest guidance from the Department for Education. Our curriculum is designed to support each child in reaching their full potential, focusing on play-based learning and first-hand experiences.

The EYFS curriculum is built on seven key areas of learning and development. The three prime areas are essential for igniting children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning:

    • Communication and Language: Developing confidence and skills in speaking and listening.
    • Physical Development: Improving gross and fine motor skills and understanding the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
    • Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Helping children form positive relationships, develop self-confidence, and manage their feelings.

The four specific areas strengthen and apply the prime areas:

    • Literacy: Encouraging a love of reading and developing writing skills.
    • Mathematics: Providing a strong foundation in numbers, shapes, and problem-solving.
    • Understanding the World: Learning about people, communities, and the environment.
    • Expressive Arts and Design: Fostering creativity and imagination through music, art, and play.

We work closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition into school. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital for a child's success.
