The Primary PE and Sport Premium

The Primary PE and Sport Premium is a government funding initiative designed to help primary schools improve the quality of their physical education (PE) and sport provision. At Hyde Park Schools, we are committed to using this funding to ensure every child has access to high-quality PE and a wide range of sporting opportunities.

    How We Use the Funding

We strategically invest our Sports Premium funding to create a lasting legacy for pupils' health, well-being, and love of sport. Our key priorities include:

    • Professional Development: We provide our teachers with specialized training to enhance their skills and confidence in teaching PE, ensuring that every lesson is engaging and effective.
    • Enrichment Opportunities: The funding allows us to offer a diverse range of after-school clubs, giving pupils the chance to try new sports and develop their abilities in a fun, supportive environment.
    • Active Playtimes: We invest in equipment and resources to encourage more active and inclusive play during break and lunch times, helping to improve pupils' fitness and social skills.
    • Increased Competition: We use the funding to participate in local school sports tournaments and events, giving our pupils the opportunity to compete and represent Hyde Park.
    • Building a Foundation: The Sports Premium allows us to purchase specialist equipment that supports the delivery of a broad and balanced PE curriculum, ensuring that every child can develop fundamental movement skills and a lifelong love of being active.

We are transparent about how we use this funding. For a detailed breakdown of our spending and its impact on pupils, please refer to our annual Sport Premium Report below
