Our Intent: What We Aim For 

At Hyde Park Schools, our curriculum is designed to inspire and challenge every child, from the very beginning of their educational journey. We are determined to prepare our pupils for the next phase of their academic life while enabling them to become positive and respectful members of their communities. Our ambitious curriculum is aligned with the National Curriculum but has been uniquely designed to meet the needs of our pupils, providing them with the essential knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. 

We believe that reading is a fundamental life skill. It is our priority to build on the foundations provided in the early years, ensuring all children become confident, fluent, and enthusiastic readers. We also believe that all subjects are equally important, with literacy and numeracy competencies serving as the vital foundation for all learning. 

Our goal is for all learners to become brave, curious, optimistic, kind, enterprising, inclusive, and confident. We have the same high ambitions for every child: to be the very best they can be. 

Our Implementation: How We Make it Happen 

We bring our curriculum to life through high-quality teaching and a commitment to professional development. Our staff are given extensive opportunities to strengthen their subject knowledge and teaching skills to ensure every lesson has maximum impact. 

Our teaching is built on a few core principles: 

• Knowledge and Skills: We ensure a broad and balanced curriculum where learning is built upon year by year, allowing children to make strong connections and deepen their understanding. We explicitly teach key vocabulary across all subjects. 
• Aspirations in Action: We provide deep learning experiences that link to our local community and heritage while also offering a global perspective. Every term, children have an exciting enrichment experience, such as a visit from an expert, a school trip, or a special on-site project. 
• Consistent Scaffolding: We make learning accessible to all pupils by ensuring clear links to prior knowledge and providing consistent support, opportunities for discussion, and timely feedback. 
• Assessment and Support: We use regular formative assessments to address any misconceptions immediately. Summative assessments are used termly to track progress and ensure all pupils are moving forward. 

Our Impact: What Our Pupils Achieve 

Pupils leave Hyde Park Schools with a secure understanding of the knowledge and skills they have learned. They are not only academically prepared but also socially, morally, and culturally responsible, with a strong sense of global awareness. 

Our aim is for all children to leave Hyde Park Schools with a passion for learning and the confidence and skills to make a positive contribution to their community and to Modern British life. They will be equipped with the tools to become lifelong learners who are in charge of their own learning journey.
