Home Learning

At Hyde Park Schools, we believe that home learning is a vital part of a child's education. It reinforces classroom learning, builds independence and responsibility, and provides a wonderful opportunity for you to get involved in your child's learning journey.

Here are some of the ways we encourage and support learning at home:

  • Reading: We ask that all pupils read at home regularly. This could be their school reading book, a library book, or even a comic. Even just a few minutes of reading each day can make a huge difference to their fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
  • Doodle Learning: We use the Doodle apps to make maths and English fun. We encourage pupils to complete a short, daily session on DoodleMaths and Doodle English to keep their skills sharp. The apps personalize learning, so they always work at the right level.
  • Homework Tasks: Depending on the year group, your child may receive specific tasks to complete at home. These will be sent out in their homework book or on their class page.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting your child’s learning at home. If you have any questions or need support, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
