Community Links
At Hyde Park Schools, we believe that a strong community is a foundation for success. We are proud to be an active part of our local area and are committed to giving our pupils opportunities to engage with and contribute to it. Our community links help pupils develop a sense of responsibility and global awareness, while also building meaningful connections.
Here are a few examples of how we engage with our community:
- Harvest Donations: We celebrate Harvest by collecting donations of food and other essential items. These donations are shared with local food banks and charities, as well as with families within our own school community who may need support.
- Working with Local Groups: We partner with a variety of local faith groups and charities to broaden our pupils' understanding of different beliefs and social issues. This includes visits from community leaders and opportunities to support charitable causes throughout the year.
- Christmas Carols: Our pupils love to share the festive spirit by visiting local nursing homes to sing Christmas carols, bringing joy to residents and building intergenerational friendships.
- Local Businesses: We work with local businesses to bring learning to life. For example, our pupils team up with a nearby florist to learn about plants and their life cycle, making science lessons practical and engaging.
- Charity Work: Our pupils actively participate in community service by volunteering at local charity shops, helping to sort donations and support important causes.
- Beach Cleanups: We are proud to be stewards of our local environment. Our pupils regularly take part in beach cleanups, helping to keep our coastline beautiful and learning about the importance of environmental responsibility.
These activities are essential to our school's ethos. They teach our pupils the value of kindness, community service, and working together to make a positive difference in the world.
