Supporting Medical Needs

At Hyde Park Schools, we are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all pupils, including those with medical conditions. We work closely with parents, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure every child's medical needs are met with care and confidentiality.

Our approach includes:

  • Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs): For pupils with long term or complex medical needs, we develop a personalised IHP. This plan outlines their condition, required medication, and the support they need to participate fully in school life.
  • Medication Management: Our trained staff can administer prescribed medication as outlined in a pupil’s IHP. We have strict procedures to ensure all medication is stored securely and administered correctly.
  • Staff Training: We provide regular training for staff to ensure they are confident and competent in supporting pupils with various medical needs, including emergency procedures and the use of specialist equipment.
  • Communication: We believe that open communication is key. We encourage parents to inform us of any medical conditions or changes to their child's health as soon as possible.

We want every child to feel safe and confident in school. Please contact us to discuss any medical needs your child may have.
